SWEET LAMB OF HEAVEN

I'm not always the kind of reader that can dive into something dark dark as hell and stay there uninterrupted and without another book to mitigate the effects. This novel, however, was equal completely engrossing in its darkness and thrill. When Anna and her six year old daughter flee from Alaska to Maine to escape a sociopath husband, (whose political tactics are almost too relevant to the present day) things get weird fast. This psychological thriller is beautifully written, driven by fascinating characters, and certainly tough to put down.

Expanding on the information revealed by an anonymous whistle blower in The Drone Papers, Assassination Complex goes deeper into our secretive program of drone warfare. With insight about the flawed way intelligence is gathered, how targets are identified before a strike (requires "near certainty" that target is present), the chain of command authorizing names on the "Kill List," the classification of unintended victims, and watchlist guidelines, this book shows that the way we now conduct war is far from "surgical."
